First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a caring family of faith in the heart of Sulphur, Louisiana. As Disciples, we gather each week around the Lord’s Table — a table that is open to all, with no exceptions.

Whether you have been part of a church your whole life or are just beginning to explore faith, you are welcome here. We are ordinary people from every walk of life, drawn together by the love of God and a desire to follow Jesus.

Our Story & Faith

For more than a century, First Christian Church has been a home for faith and fellowship in Sulphur. Founded in 1919, our congregation continues to grow together in worship, study, and service.

As a Disciples of Christ congregation, we hold to a simple, gracious faith: no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible, and a Table open to all. We celebrate communion every Sunday and welcome every believer to share in it.

We are also a Green Chalice congregation, caring for God’s creation as an act of faith — one more way we try to love our neighbor and our world.
